Corazon Home Build

Next Build Date

Saturday May 18, 2024

St. Paul’s Episcopal church of Burlingame annually partners with Corazon and uses our collective gifts to make a difference for others. We will build a home in Tijuana, Tecate, or another Mexican city near the US-Mexico border for a family in need in only a day. Corazon is an international organization with deep roots within the communities in which they operate. They support the community members to select the beneficiary families and provide the coordination to bring the home build to life. The community ownership and agency make these projects truly a community gift of love. We will be welcomed into their community with deep gratitude.

Transportation
Transportation

Each participant is responsible to get themselves to San Diego, CA no later than the evening of Friday May 17. We will caravan/ride share Saturday morning to meet our transportation in Chula Vista. The bus/shuttle will transport us to the build site back and back to Chula Vista. We will caravan/ride share from Chula Vista back to our individual lodgings. Individuals are then responsible for transportation back home to the Bay Area.

Lodging

Each participant is responsible for securing their own lodging. St. Paul’s will organize a block of hotel rooms at a discounted rate for those that are interested. We will also attempt to secure an AirBnB that could be used as a gathering place for a dinner social after the build day.

Costs

Each participant is responsible for the costs of transportation, lodging, and food outside of the build day events from bus pickup to drop-off. We will additionally raise funds to cover the $12,500 build costs. Donations are appreciated, especially from those not able to join us in person.

Communication/Sign-up

Please contact Bryan Vander Lugt to express interest in potentially joining. The sign up sheet will be posted soon!
