Celebrate Christmas in a search for stars through nine centuries of song with the Choirs of St. Paul’s and Director Susan Jane Matthews, from the Medieval chant of Hildegard von Bingen and the Romantic keyboard music of Fanny Hensel, to Modern settings of the poetry of Sara Teasdale by American Frank Ticheli and Latvian Ēriks Ešenvalds.

Based on the program of music from the 2018 Christmas concert, Searching for Stars was recorded in May 2019 by the Choirs of St. Paul’s (grade K through adults) accompanied by organ, string quintet, woodwinds, handbells, water-tuned glasses, and even Tibetan bowl.

This CD will make a terrific gift for friends and families.  Sales benefit the Choir School.

Reviews, “Sweetly Singing in the Choir”

“We are so completely blown away by the beautiful, skilled and sophisticated performance of these carols that we had to write you immediately and thank you for this transporting musical experience … that exceeds much of what we already own from famous choirs and conductors.”

“I have many choral CDs from various church choirs.  “Sweetly Singing” ranks among the best, in my opinion.”

“[We] listened to the beautiful new St. Paul’s Christmas CD this evening.  It is awesome!  The choral and organ music selections, clarity of voices, and accompanying instruments in perfect harmony and balance is truly wonderful.  I hope this is the first of many recordings by St. Paul’s Choir.  I doubt there are many sacred music CDs that have blended youthful and mature voices with the same perfection – an amazing accomplishment.”
