2021-2022 Evensong Series
Celebrating 15 Years!

Sundays at 4pm

All are invited to the 2021 - 2022 Evensong Series, monthly offerings on Sundays at 4pm.  In this 15th Anniversary Season of the Evensong Series and Choir School,  join in the festive offerings in a journey toward the July 2022 Residency by the Choir of St. Paul’s at Wells Cathedral, England.

Drawing on the ancient monastic offices of Vespers and Compline, the beautiful and uniquely Anglican service of Choral Evensong (sung Evening prayer) is centered on prayer, psalms, and Scripture readings. In addition to Choral Evensong, the Evensong Series includes Advent Lessons and Carols and concerts.

You may listen again to the 2020 - 2021 Virtual Evensong Series at:

Highlighting Women Composers at St. Paul’s

A great host of women bring the glad tidings.  ~ Psalm 68:11b

St. Paul's joyfully celebrates a great host of women composers amidst the music offered in services and concerts. Keep ears, minds and hearts open especially for music of black women composers Margaret Bonds, Undine Smith Moore, Melanie DeMore and Florence Price; Fanny Hensel Lobgesang, Elizabeth Kimble Communion Service, Sarah MacDonald Evening Canticles; and a premiere of commissioned evening canticles by Melissa Dunphy. The 2021-22 season includes the first Marcia McCowin Concert, an annual offering highlighting women composers and poets underwritten by the estate of Marcia McCowin.  The Choir of St. Paul's continues to premiere the poignant psalm anthems of St. Paul’s composer-in-residence Patricia Van Ness (patriciavanness.com).

The Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir, a mixed volunteer choir with section leaders, sings a diverse repertoire ranging from chant, Renaissance and Baroque motets to Anglican anthems and newly composed sacred works. The Chancel Choir enriches the liturgy of the 10am Sunday Holy Eucharist, the Saturday Evensongs, and various additional liturgies including Advent Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve and the services of Holy Week (mid-September through early June). Individual musicianship training is offered to members through a RSCM for adults program. The choir will be in residence at Wells Cathedral, England in July 2022.
