Taking Next Steps in Mission and Ministry 2019
Your vestry and leadership are now considering what we should focus on for the next 2-3 years together. Where should we go, and what should we do to live into our calling?
We are fortunate to have a strong foundation of vision, mission, and values upon which we can reflect to guide our planning:
Our vision is that God’s embracing love would be joyfully shared by all people
To live into this vision, our mission is:
To understand and celebrate God’s dream for the world To be transformed in Jesus love
To use our gifts to make a difference for others
In our life together, we value:
Being together in an open and affirming way
  • When we gather we help people feel welcomed, valued, supported and connected to each other. People accept each other no matter where they are on their spiritual journey.
Learning and growing together
  • We engage in opportunities to experience the deep truths of the Christian faith in ways that resonate with our own lives.
  • We come with an open mind.
  • We accept one another as we are.
  • We share a desire to grow.
  • We discover new things about ourselves and how we live out our faith.
Caring for others in our church, and in the larger community
  • We care deeply about each other and engage with others in need both within and outside of our community. Some of our best connections with others are in times of crisis and transition.
Working together as we share ministry
  • We are at our best at St. Paul’s when we pull together around a common goal and work together on a project.
Building on where we have been, let us gather and consider... Where is God calling us next? What are we being called to do in the next 2-3 years? We ask you to reflect on this as we need and value your voice.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of the Mission and Ministry planning team members: Bill Phillips, Karl Breice, Elizabeth Duff, Peter Shanholt, Thomas Skillings. We look forward to connecting with you during this important time. A community is at its best when people talk, listen and value the viewpoints of one another. This is your church. We want to hear from you.
